How to check your CPU TEMP & fix it if you have a problem?

Better safe than sorry

So how do i check the temp?
Downlaod and install >> http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
Its a nice little app that shows current cpu temp in traybar.

Why do i need this?
If you use CPU intensive applications chances are that the silver coolant in between cpu & heat sink evaporates which may lead to cpu overheating resulting in low performance and frequent auto shutdowns.

What is the normal temperature range?
When you pc is idle CPU temperature should be between 30-50. Depending on the cpu brand, cooling, ventilation, weather etc. When cpu runs at 100% the temperature may reach upto 70 degrees. Anything above 90 may result in autoshutdown to protect cpu from getting damaged. Also these figures are just approximations and depending on how much heat your cpu can handle these can change.

How to fix this?
Buy artic silver paste. >> http://bit.ly/fZaNan
Open up cpu cover. Remove the cpu heatsink with fan. Clean the silver remains of silvery coat and apply a 3-5mm dot at center of cpu and reattach the heatsink.
Or call you technician and tell him to do this.
