By cupping your hand in a manner similar to one you would adopt with a mouse underneath it, an infrared camera and laser beam with a line cap is all that's needed to make your hand mouse function with just the same level of effectiveness and efficiency. Clicks are detected through the infrared blobs that light up along the line cap and are interpreted as mouse movements.
